Thank You All

This year for Thanksgiving, my wife and I are cooking for 20 people. She doesn’t care that I’m a CEO. In the kitchen, she is still the boss and I have turkey duty.
Still, I just can’t resist contributing my expertise. Last weekend, when I was shopping for ingredients, I decided we needed to plan how it’s all going to come together at the dining table.
We’ve been doing so much development at Zecco, I simply can’t help slipping into project management mode. So I got home, and started my Thanksgiving project plan.
It’s a cool series of Gantt charts to help time the cooking of each dish. All she needs to do is enter when we’ll eat and it tells her when to begin each dish and all the ingredients she needs.
My wife saw the plan, looked at me the way she does when one of the kids does something cute, but spectacularly unhelpful, and said “Thank you, dear. If you really want to do something useful, how about breaking up some bread for the stuffing?”
Thanksgiving dinner, it really is like a development project. You plan and plan, but the yams always take longer than you thought they would. Why is that?
Nonetheless, when you finally sit down and share the table with your family and friends it’s worth all the effort.
As I break up a loaf of sourdough bread, which is surprisingly relaxing, I’m reflecting on how far Zecco has come this year and the many great things that lie ahead of us.
I have a lot to be thankful for.
I am feeling privileged to work with a wonderful team of people who deliver world class service to our customers every day, and are creating our future with the new Trading Center and smartphone apps. Most of all, I want to thank you – our 400,000+ members and account holders. All the things we’re working on are for you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
